About Tuesday

The workout was great - I has sweat dripping down my face, leaping off my nose onto the exercise mat.

My butt and my thighs are STILL achey today but in a good way.

Little Man has been More Mr. Hyde than Dr. Jeckyll this wk so that's been tough.

And I am really getting worried about speaking at soul sister C.'s wedding on Sat.

I'm sure I'll have lots to say after all that.

Oh and I'm back with the trainer on Tuesday morning again.

I'll have to ask him again what some of the things we were doing were called so I can write about them.

G'night!

Looking towards tomorrow

Personal training appointment in the morning!!!!!

:>:>:>

Now that I've gotten the "all clear" from the cardiologist I can finally use those sessions I purchased via dealfind.com!

I have to go early-ish in the a.m. so I can make it home before Hubs goes to work (he's working 11-8 tomorrow)  and so I can grab a shower while he watches the kids before he heads out.  Then I take Little Man to swimming lessons and I'm not sure what else is on the agenda for tomorrow.

I don't think I can fit in trip to the Farmer's Market (because it gets busier the closer it gets to noon) so that might have to wait until Thursday.

Lastly, I am going to try and upload the video that 1G1D1Y took of Little Man last wk... though I do not promise it will work.

Had to get this off my chest

I realize that even writing this may be opening myself for a shitstorm of vitriol and that's NOT what I am looking for.

This has been kicking around in my head for a bit.

There is a somewhat well-known blogger who had one blog back when I started FAB. Then he stopped writing in that one (I think the story was that it was hacked or something - but it was awhile ago so I can't claim to be clear on the details). Whatever it was, that blog he was first using - stopped being used.

Then, there was 2nd version/incarnation of his previous blog. That made sense, it had a similar name so his followers could locate him etc...

But, for some reason he decided to stop using that one and he even posted a goodbye post.

OK, lots of bloggers stop blogging or some even have different blogs for different topics (I do that thought this one sees the most action).

But THEN, there was a new blog, started out with a fake name and occupation (compared to the listed info on his previous 2 blogs) but then as the writing style and content was the same so it was obvious to all that it was that same previous blogger. And, in fact, he rather quickly "came out" as himself on his new blog.

But for all the dissing I've seen him do on his various blogs that's been directed at other bloggers - it just seems odd that he's on his 3rd blog and still craps on other people for how they blog, what they blog, abandoning their blogs, leaving their weight loss blogs and starting new weight loss blogs et cetera.

As well, there was a WAY out of line comment recently that seemed specifically aimed at someone very important to me. Considering that the blogger (who you will notice I am not naming) had some personal information from the person that he then used as a joke at the person he seemed to be slamming - it just pissed me off.

Of course, he didn't name names either, giving himself some plausible denial-ability I guess BUT with the specific circumstances used in the slagging -- I can't see it being applied to a very broad portion of the weight loss community bloggers.

And, frankly, I think it was shitty.

So, despite my original resolve to ignore it - I had to at least write this.

Quick update

When I went to the Farmer's Market on Thursday with the kids & my sister, I picked up some stones. Decided to just see what felt good and then asked the merchant what they were.

I purchased the following:

  • Aquamarine
  • Citrine
  • Kunzite
  • Kyanite
I haven't yet had a chance to read up on them much to see what they tend to do - but there must be a reason that they felt right to me.

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

Gotta go to bed

Well it was a decent day.

Did mini-golf with soul sister C and some of her other friends plus her Mom and Aunt.  I was the worst mini-golf player of all the teams.  Oh well.  It was entertaining albeit super sweaty (damn humidity!)

Then it was the pole-dancing class.  I observed and took photos.

Then I was home for awhile before going out to meet everyone for dinner and then drinking and dancing at The Flying Dog.

Does it say something strange about me that I prefer to take myself a step back from group activities like that and feel more comfortable from behind the camera lens?

It's not quite that it creates a barrier or anything, more like it allows me to encapsulate the experience.  The only downfall being that most of my photos of me are usually self-snapped headshots by myself or with one other person.

But it gives me a role and then enables me to be involved or to step more into the role of the observer which I suppose is often more comfortable to me.

I don't know - just thought I'd get the thought down because I often compose blog posts in my head but then I don't want to write them once I get to the com.

G'night!

It's my blog-o-versary!

One year!

It's kind of hard to believe it's been one year.  And it's been a crazy year.  Highs and lows in life and lows and re-gains with weight.

Where I stand right this moment.

Weight: 216.0 lbs
Weight one year ago today: 278 lbs
Highest Non-Pregnancy weight: 286 lbs

Total maintained loss in one year: 62 lbs
Total maintained loss:  70 lbs

I am pleased with myself but there is still more to do.  With the no cardio from the first days in May until just last wk I regained weight as my lowest weight was 204.2 lbs so I regained 12 lbs.

I am told that with Baby Girl being weaned off breast milk in May as well that it would impact my weight loss.

Did I lose 100 lbs in a year like I wanted to (but was afraid to hope for)?  Nope but I got a damn good start on it all.

And what else have I done?

  • I have learned to say "no" to people when I need to or want to
  • I have tried new things like belly-dancing, boot camp & personal training
  • I have cut out SO MUCH of my prior negative self-talk
  • I am more active
  • I am actually preparing food at home beyond PB sandwiches
  • I feel better about myself and I show it with how I dress and behave
  • I pay more attention to the fuel I am putting into my body
  • I am going out more and overcoming my anxiety
  • I am happier & healthier

What is still in progress:

  • Continued healthy weight loss for myself
  • working with Hubs & Little Man & Rhyme Girl re: being healthier overall (Baby Girl is not a problem in that area)
  • more adventures in cooking
  • figuring out how to make time to blog when I'm home with the kids or (with this crazy heat) out and about with the kids all day and exhausted by the time I get home again
Overall,  I'm happy with myself.

  1. I've survived the stress of a fire next door that had us in a hotel for 5 days. And the subsequent dealing with other people and paperwork related to that event.
  2. Hubs and I survived him being out-of-work for over a year.
  3. I made it through the stress and worry of some cardiac tests and now know that I may need to take it a bit easier with cardio but I don't have to STOP.
  4. I will be doing readings in two of the four weddings I am attending this year.
  5. Today I am going out with a group of women I don't know (other than soul sister, C., her Mom & her aunt & Darci who I met yesterday) and going mini-golfing, to a pole-dancing lesson, to dinner and then to club I've never been to before for dancing.
I want to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey so far -- please know that I appreciate your support and your inspiration!!!

finally an update!

Yes, I am alive... Baby Girl & Little Man and myself are swimming with 1G1D1Y and her kids and the kids in her care.

This is what we did yesterday plus a number of days the other wk when Rhyme Girl was still here.

btw, forgive my typing - I am haphazardly availing myself of a laptop and for some reason the damn cursor keeps moving while i\ am typing and it's taking me way longer to type this.

Have I mentioned that my heart is OK?

So I have a personal training session scheduled for \tues a.m.

Basically I was told not to over-exert or push myself and that if my issues continue, change\worsen to come back in and that while he could prescribe medication - he thinks it's unnecessary at this time.

tmw soul sister C is having her bachelorette.  A group of us are doing mini-golf, pole dancing lessons (I'm only watching), dinner and then drinks and dancing.

ok way too hard to type with squirmy baby... ttyl!

Been busy with school being out

Have Rhyme Girl and Little Man home with Baby Girl and I. And it's always so HOT in our unit. Most mornings this week it's been 27 degrees Celsius when I've gotten up at 6:30 a.m.

We've spent a number of days this wk with 1G1D1Y and her kids, swimming. Though Baby Girl has been a bit of a wiener so I haven't done much swimming.

Little Man would like to take swimming lessons. This is something I've wanted for him for awhile but he's been resistant to it so the fact that he wants to do it now is pretty exciting. I'll have to look into when classes are available for him.

Last night the kids were looking at pics of Hubs and I as kids and then they wanted to look at their little books for each year of school and I noticed something...

Little Man was 40 lbs in junior kindergarten and is only 53 lbs now, going into Grade 4 for September.

Rhyme Girl we had her weight listed at the end of Grade 2 at 95.4 lbs. She is currently 135.4 lbs just finishing Grade 5 and is going into Grade 6 in September.

Looking in my book - my Mom didn't tend to note my weight or height very often. In Grade 1 I was the shortest kid in class at 43 inches tall.

In Grade 7 I was the shortest kid in my class and I weighed 74 lbs.

In Grade 8 I was 4 ft 11 and the shortest in my class and had written "NO COMMENT" in the weight section.

In Grade 9 I was 5 ft 3 and 100 lbs.

I graduated high school weighing 128 lbs and being 5 ft 5 and 1/4"

I'm 5 ft 5 and 1/2 now. (My driver's license lists me at 5 ft 6 though).

Baby Girl has been walking up a storm and attempted one solitary step yesterday. Up onto the step, back down, up and back down.

On Wednesday my oldest niece delivered her 3rd child (my newest great-nephew) at home and I haven't been by to see them yet but the pics on FB show him to be a gorgeous new addition to the family.

And now for some pics...

OH MY GOODNESS!

"We're sorry, but you have exceeded your photo upload quota."

What do I do now?
