Another wedding and another reading ;>

So yesterday was the day, 1G1D1Y got married to the man I introduced her to back in 2006.

I've been told that that should mean they have to buy me a pair of shoes in some cultures.

WHERE ARE MY SHOES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I was asked to do a reading during their ceremony but I couldn't find anything that really expressed what I wanted to say so I wrote something for them instead.

I have a video of it... but I am alarmed at the angle because I look WIDE and I think I look healthier than that in person. Perhaps this dress I love(d) should not be one I wear often if this is what I really look like in it.

Oh and the woman who did the second reading -- whoa, so glad I didn't have to follow her Neil Gaiman show-stopper.

Anyway, here's me.

This could be interesting

My beloved soul sister C. sent me an email from NZ last night:

"Hello my dear friend,

_____ and I have a special question to ask of you. We would be honoured if you would read a psalm or poem for us during the wedding ceremony at the church. Please consider this and let me know by tomorrow, if you can. Love you lots!
"

My reply was: "What poem would you like me to read?

:>

xo
"

This morning I got back:  "Well, that's a good question!  It could be something you have written (goodness knows i love your writing- and you have a lot of it!)   or it could be a Psalms about Love is Patient, Love is kind... I have also asked my brother to read something, as well as ______'s godmother. I don't know how many Psalms are nice enough to read, so I thought a personal poem might be nice too.  Does that help?"

So I think that Ellen would appreciate this one... it's ideal for a comfort zone challenge!

#1 - I either need to write a suitable poem or find one by someone famous.
#2 - I will read it, in a church, in front of X amount of people with my only knowing a handful of them.

Wow.

But Soul Sister C. and I have been friends since a month before she turned 11 and I turned 14.

She and I have the same birthday and, awesomely enough, her fiancee S. and Hubs have the same birthday as each other.  (Though I am older than she is and Hubs is way older than S. is).

Little Man with C and her fiance, S.

When I married Hv1.0 - C. was living in Mexico so I did not ask her to be in my wedding because I didn't think she'd even be able to attend.  To my surprise and delight - she made it to my wedding!

Of course, considering how things worked out over all, it's probably just as well that she wasn't in my bridal party.

When she and S. finally got engaged, I wasn't sure if I would be asked to be a part of the day beyond attending because she has a LOT of friends and many of them are in the same stage of life as she is whereas I'm well into my parenting years, so to speak.

Because of what my weight was and how bad my anxiety was - I felt that if she had asked last year that I would not have been able to do it.

Then I started getting healthier, and I started to wish that she would've asked me, even if she'd figured that I'd have said no - I wished to have the right of first refusal, so to speak.

Little Man just leaned over my shoulder to ask if I blogged about the fact that it's a kid-free wedding (he likes weddings and is peeved that he doesn't get to attend).

So now, I need to come up with something awesome for her special day.

But, you'll see that I have not written any poetry in awhile.

Hmmn...

Journey to health - Day 186

weight:  219.0 lbs
(@1G1D1Y -- I re-weighed after nursing the baby and going to the bathroom)

When I started this I was 278 lbs.  And when I was lackadaisical about it a few months before that - I was 286 lbs.

I am VERY excited right now.

59 lbs gone since July 23, 2010.
67 lbs gone since April 4, 2010.

I am ONE POUND AWAY from being down 60 lbs since July and being the weight I was when I first met Hubs in person!!!

This morning, 1G1D1Y, her Mom, her MoH (and MoH's adorable baby) and I were out at the bridal shop.

1G1D1Y ordered her dress!!!  It was beautiful and the store was fun and we offered unsolicitated opinions to another bride-to-be who was trying things on.

I found myself looking at some of the bridal gowns too (at Hubs' urging on my way out the door actually).

You see, Hubs is *technically* my mistress - LOL!

I left Husband v1.0 in Jan 2005 but I refuse to pay for the divorce since I was the one who was faithful and I was the one who paid off all the marital debt, even though most of it was because of him - and I've never taken him to court for child support so I've never seen more than $280 from him in a YEAR since he's not legally obligated towards anything.

Hence why I won't pay for the divorce.

That being said, Hubs would like us to be legally wed.  The first time he spoke of marrying me was less than a week before the first time we met in person.

Yes, that's right - Hubs did one of those things that I'd normally view as a "fatal flaw" the first day we started chatting on MSN - but (lucky for him *tee hee*) I found it charming.

And Hv1.0 has been engaged to his common-law spouse since Xmas of '07 and she's getting impatient.

*shrug*

Anyway -- when we go to pick up Son from school - then we are heading straight to the rec center.  S-girl is going to try to meet us there as well.

Gotta get my 5k in - damn it!

And now, it's time for some green tea... need to chill for a bit because I relaized I have 3 weddings to attend this yr... Soul sister C's nuptials in July, one of my niece's is getting married the wkend before 1G1D1Y's wedding and, of course, my girl 1G1D1Y.

What am *I* going to wear????
