Today

Well I got home last night and Hubs and my kidlets were very happy to see me - just as I was happy to be home with them again!

I have my cardiac test this afternoon... hoping that goes well but it's also my TOM and I am very crampy and bitchy today.

One of my take-aways from Calgary was that I kept seeing pairs of birds that I was unfamiliar with.  I was told while I was there that they were mockingbirds.

Unfortunately, I was unable to catch them on camera but a google search turned up a picture of one from this person's Picasa gallery:  http://picasaweb.google.com/KarenMaine10433/AlbertaVacation2009# - I do not know Karen Maine but if you look at the third picture (in the top row) from that link - you will see a mockingbird just like the ones I saw while I was in Calgary.

I don't know if I can link a FB video like this or not but I got video of a guy trying to drum up business by tossing a sign... http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150627784060158&comments

On Saturday I went out for a walk in the afternoon with one of the girls and we encountered a 90ish old woman who was lost and we helped get her back to the retirement home she lived at, so that was a nice moment of good karma.

I spent most of Sunday dreadfully hungover after the BBQ on Saturday night and I think I handled the flight home on Monday far better than the flight out there BUT I was more nervous coming home because it was really crappy weather in Calgary on Monday morning.

Girl stuff, the movie Limitless & other things

My fashionably late period has shown up and I feel like HELL this morning!

:(

And I do have pernicious anemia but I do take B12 sub lingual tablets plus iron so I still can't figure out why I've been so wiped out lately...

Before I forget... if any of my readers are on Facebook, please go to http://www.facebook.com/fitnessdepot click "like" & then go to the wall, find the pic that you see at the top of my blog & click "like" on the photo of Cara-Mae (me).

If I get the most "likes" by May 15th, I can win a $250 gift card from Fitness Depot and I could certainly use some new equipment and since Hubs has STILL not heard from anyone re: getting a job - y'all know I can't afford to buy anything.

Yesterday Hubs and I used our two-for-1 movie coupon to attend the "Stars & Strollers" matinee showing of "Limitless" which, unfortunately tested the limits of my patience.

Despite the lead role being filled by the dreamy and charismatic Bradley Cooper, the movie was extremely predictable, overall rather boring and relied far more on "tell me" rather than "show me" in regards to the voice-overs from the aforementioned Cooper.

Robert De Niro was drab and played a minor role.  All in all, a very disappointing outing.

On the good news department, Son found my missing car key!  So now the only missing items are my pedometer (lost outside) and Hubs' cell phone.

Here's another video of Baby Girl from Hubs' camera... it's very cute!

Getting ready to go

No change on the scale this morning... still 206.4 lba so I guess I did a good job with my eating in moderation yesterday.

And that was naked on the scale WITHOUT having breast-fed Baby Girl for about 8 hrs and during my TOM aka period aka Shark Week.

LOL!

Today shall entail at least 5 hrs sitting in the car if traffic is OK. 2.5 hrs to Step-Daughter's mother's place and 2.5 hrs on the way back.

That's if we're lucky.

So wish us luck :>

being a girl (tmi female stuff)

So I am dealing with postpartum period #2.

Because of this, I was surprised to see the scale drop at all this week as in the years between having Son and then having Baby Girl, I would almost invariably throw on 5 - 10 lbs a few days before my period would start and then go back down shortly after it was over.

It didn't happen last month or this month so I do hope that THAT continues! I still feel bloated but not nearly what I used to.

And this one is worse than the one last month but not quite as bad as I remember that they used to be.

But after going over 500 days without a "real" period - I can't really complain.  Last month's was uncomfortable as hell but not normal but this one, it's business as usual... except for the lack of water bloating weight (which i don't miss).

weight: 212.8 lbs

I feel like I'm in a bit of a slump.  Still not sleeping well and that really has an adverse impact on my days.

Was busy with co-op stuff this week (I'm the President of our Board of Directors where I live and on the Personnel Committee) so last night and the night before I was out at meetings.

With my period, I've been dealing with hormone-related headaches and cramps.

At the moment I am re-watching this week's episode of "Glee", sipping some tea (one bag de-caf green tea and one bag herbal lemon tea steeping in the teapot) and blogging.

Baby Girl seems to be really enjoying the Glee boys as "The Justin Bieber Experience" singing "Somebody to Love."

Son said on his way out to school that he thinks that he could sound more like Justin Bieber if he tried, but he thought the Glee boys were "OK."

The whole Justin Bieber thing is kind of entertaining.  I can't remember if I've mentioned it on here before or not but Son used to have a major hate on for the Biebs.

When asked why, his explanation was as follows:

"All the girls are in love with Justin Bieber and when I am a teenager and want a girlfriend, they will all be in love with Justin Bieber so I can't have one."

Once he finally realized that not every girl will be in love with the Biebs once Son is old enough to want to have a girlfriend, Son then admitted that he likes Bieber's music and hair.
