Sorry I didn't post yesterday

Let me jump back to Monday...

1G1D1Y & I went to our belly-dancing class.  I seem to do OK until the instructor starts counting and then I get confused.

I promised Ellen a vlog on it in a month or two - so we'll see how that pans out...

Yesterday we did more laundry, went to play some RockBand3 with S-girl & Jeebus, took Son to Chapters after school so he could spend his Xmas gift cards, oh and I fell yesterday.

Not a slip and catch or the type of fall I could try to pass off as something else...

A full-on, slip, slide, land right on my ASS in the snow.

I laughed, jumped up and got in the car without looking to see how many people might have seen me.

SO EMBARRASSING!!!!!!!!!!

I am still feeling very wiped out re: the mastitis... but improving.

I've also found that the antibiotics are rough on my stomach as I've had issues with throwing up when I've taken my Vitamin D pills or my Iron capsule in the past few days so I've skipped them - which has left me feeling more rundown.

My mood is better today - plus, I am going for a haircut today!

S-girl had an appointment set for today but she's not feeling well so I am stepping in.

Plus, I need nice hair.  Everything I get at First Choice (inexpensive hair place) leaves me looking smoother but still it's "Mom hair."

I'm thinking that I should girlify myself before I go in today so maybe I'll get something cuter/sexier.

(I'll insert a pic of my current crazy bad hair at the end of the post).

Oh and I thought of another NSV (which I think someone else also mentioned recently but I can't remember which awesome blogger it was) -- I can fit a towel all around myself!!!

I don't know when it happened, I just realized it the other day.

But it's awesome!

Also awesome - Baby Girl's crazy morning hair...

I spent all afternoon in the closet - luckily, it;'s a walk-in!

Yep, all afternoon!!!

I have 3 garbage bags full of donation clothing to be dropped off... I have my clothes put away (except what's in the laundry queue) and I did have a tiny panic attack but I got over it.

Buh-bye "fat girl" clothes that don't fit me anymore (and NEVER will again!!!).

So long "frumpy mom" clothes - some which fit and some which don't - I don't want you or need you unless you fulfill one of the following things:

  1. You make me feel pretty and/or sexy.
  2. You are necessary for exercise-type purposes.
Speaking of feeling sexy... I decided to try on the old rubber dress today - just for fun.  My boobs are bigger than they were when I originally wore it and it's still not what I'd call a "flattering" fit - but I wasn't planning on wearing it to belly dancing tonight or anything like that...

Still - that's an NSV because Hubs has never seen me wear it (other than in old photos).

A good day with a new NSV

So today I went out with Baby Girl, the magnificent K. & S-girl.

Hubs took Step-Daughter home because there was a big winter storm watch that had people feeling nervous and then by the time he got back from dropping her off, the storm watch was canceled.

But since Step-Daughter's primary residence is about 245 km from where we live, it's not like Hubs could turn around and go get her for the extra day (tomorrow is a holiday here).

Son had a fun play-date with K's boys while the girls went out.

Now, let me tell you -- I am not a fan of malls or of shopping.  Partly due to my anxiety and panic issues and partly because I don't have the best of luck trying to find things to fit me.

But today - I found 2 bras at La Senza that fit OK (if they'd had something bigger than a DD I might have had more luck but one style fit me in the 38 DD) and I was able to try on a couple of tops in two "normal" stores.

Meaning stores that I've either never shopped in before or haven't shopped in in a very, VERY long time.

One fit but wasn't as flattering as I had hoped and the other was snug on my chest but too tight on my tummy and wouldn't pull down to my hips.

Nonetheless, just the fact that I could find things that could fit/sort of fit was a huge NSV for me.

Also, I wanted to feel a bit pretty today - help stoke myself up for being out in public so I put some makeup on.

I think this pic was flattering...

And here's one of myself and the baby Girl herself...

We walked around the mall and tried things on for over an hour...

And, I HAD FUN doing it!!!

Shocking, I know!

How was your day?

NSV & a small drop on Day 200

First, the weight update...

I did get a 214.2 but then i checked and I got 214.4 the next 3 times.

weight:  214.4 lbs

I noticed that I have a small muscle in my arm.  I haven't seen anything like that in ages.

And yes, we still have our Xmas tree up - the box got wrecked and I keep forgetting to buy a bin to put it away in. I told the kids it's going to be a Valentine's tree...

LOL!

Hate-loss challenge update & NSVs

So, I guess my post about this will largely be the fact that I bought a sexy bra and matching panties yesterday to wear for Hubs last night since it was our anniversary.

First time I've worn something sexy in a few years.

I bought two new pairs of exercise pants yesterday - size LARGE since my XXLs and my XLs keep falling down.

And I was also able to wear Hubs winter jacket ZIPPED UP!!!  When I bought it for him a couple of months ago, I couldn't come close to zipping it up.

I think, overall, my mood is better and more positive.  I did have a tough time when trying to find some sports bras that I would like and that would really cut down on the "movement" and I am still SOL on that front.

Although being positive about MYSELF does not come naturally to me -- it is getting easier.

And I am getting a lot better at accepting compliments.

Thank you very much!

The lovely Stacy awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award.

Since I've received it already - this time I will take a page from some of the other bloggers I adore and say that whomever out there who reads and enjoys my blog and has a blog of their own --

Award yourself!

You deserve it!

----------------------------------

Now, tonight I had an odd NSV... Hubs wanted to get subs for supper.  From Subworx.  I love those but they don't love my body and my body doesn't love digesting them.

So instead of a pizza sub with double meat, double cheese, extra sauce on sour dough bread, I had baby spinach with grilled chicken breast, ham and a bit of cheese and tzatziki sauce in a whole wheat wrap.

My stress list and then, to end on a higher note, a NSV!

Horrible night's sleep last night...

Lots of odd, disjointed dreams.

Cranky, cranky Baby Girl and Son has a seal-like cough, is pale and clammy to the touch with a low fever.

So I'm keeping him home today in the hopes of nipping whatever he's got in the bud.

I am feeling a bit better re: my missing my Mom breakdown yesterday.

She died Nov 2, 2004.  Terminal bone cancer which had metastasized from her breast.

I did surprisingly well this year on the anniversary of her death but then lately, I've been feeling things building up just from all over.

Stressors like:

  • Son's issues with being bullied at school and then getting caught when he retaliates instead of walking away
  • Baby Girl's lack of regular sleep during the night
  • Hubs and his on-going attempts to find and secure employment
  • Dealing with Step-Daughter's mother!!!
  • Worrying about my newest great-nephew and on whether or not my niece will choose to (or be allowed to choose) whether or not she will place him for adoption or not (there are other factors involved with this that I won't get into on my blog)
  • The death of my friend's dad and subsequent discussions about that sad event really brought back a lot of things about the deaths of both of my parents
But I do not want to end this post on a down note so here is an NSV (only because I'm not sure at which weight I would have first fit into this).

A few Xmases ago, Hubs was looking for a present for me so I found some PJs that I liked.  The PJs were purchased although the size inside the PJs did not match the larger size listed on the hanger.

I had never been able to wear them until I thought to try them on this weekend.

The size inside says 2x but they must be small fitting since my other PJs are now 1x (and I have one pair that are XL that fit).

Day 118 - Non-scale victory

OK this one is very personal.

And I am really proud of it personally but it's also a very humbling confession.

I think I've mentioned that I love a good soak in the tub.

We've got a standard sized tub in the place where we reside.

I just noticed the other day that the water all comes out.

Not sure what I mean?

Well, without using visuals... here's the skivvy.

Previously, when I had a bath, I would have to get out of the tub right away or the water would drain away from my feet and legs but would stay behind me because my thighs and behind acted like a dam.

But I just noticed the other day that the water was draining and that my thighs and behind were no longer creating an impasse for the water.

So that's my NSV.

Even if I find it a bit embarrassing to blog about.

I survived yesterday - Non-scale victories...

My toast to my late Mom was a 1/3 cup of Pepsi (not a whole can like it would have been in the past).

I managed to walk to Son's school and back to pick him up after school, even with the pain in my leg.

Did some more exercising using Baby Girl as a weight.

And I did not let myself overeat to deal with my emotions.
