Having a fantastic self-esteem day!

OK so I slept in a wee bit this morning due to Hubs & an alarm clock setting issue (he had it on radio not buzzer so we didn't hear it because the fm tuner wasn't on a viable station).

Anyway, so I had a shower - used my new hair dryer with the diffuser (though my hair didn't last till we got home) and some mousse to try and make it look like it did the other day.

And I even put on makeup.

We headed out for Son's Kung Fu (where we were meeting Husband v1.0 & his fiancee) and I was feeling rather pretty, even if I was a bit iffy with how my hair turned out (remember, I am still learning to girlify myself).

Got to Kung Fu and I got a ton of compliments from people on how much weight I've lost and on my hair and just in general on how I look and how great I must be feeling.

After Kung Fu, Son went off to his father's whilst Hubs, Baby Girl and myself went to the mall.

I ended up getting 5 shirts from Suzy Shier that were all 50% off (pics will be at the end of the post) and I picked up a new balance 3 Axis Pedometer (which I have to take out of the box and figure out how to set it up).

Hubs got a used copy of Beatles Rock Band for the Wii (but it's defective and they don't have anymore so we have to swap it for store credit, or another game or a Nintendo points card so we can DL some new songs for regular Rock Band).

We also bought the book, "Killing Affair" by David Wickes (who was in store and signed our copy of it to Hubs).  Apparently he started writing after he retired, he self-published his first book, had a publisher for his 2nd and then went back to self-publishing.

No idea if either of us will like the book but we thought - what the hell?

While we were in the mall, we ran into my sister-in-law and the youngest of nieces from my adoptive side of the family and they were complimenting me on how great I am looking (even since Xmas which we had at the beginning of January) re: my weight loss and my SIL and niece also really loved my hair.

Like I say, I am having a FANTASTIC self-esteem day!!!!

And now, PICS!!!

My hair (after 3 hrs at the mall)

Feels kind of crappy today

Made an appt with my DR for this afternoon because I've had a sore, inflamed breast for a few days.

I think I have a blogged duct or something but I have not been able to alleviate it with warm compresses and feedings so I am going to go in to see if there is something else the DR recommends.

Had a hell of a migraine since around 5 a.m.

All this = bitchy me.

Oh and some tidbits from yesterday... Hubs and I ended up meeting up with S-girl & Jeebus at the mall and we shopped and had lunch with them.

I also had a proper bra measurement/fitting while there. Apparently I am supposed to be wearing a 36 E.

Of course, La Senza doesn't go higher than DD (I'm wearing a 38 DD most of the time because that's a size that I can make work for me).

Just like most of the shoe stores in the mall don't have anything larger than a ladies size 10 (I wear an 11 or 11.5 depending on the style).

It gets a bit disheartening.

And I really need at least one new nursing bra and some new shoes.

Still sitting at 208 - hopefully I'll see another drop by the end of the week...

Sports bra shopping aka a walk through Hell

Let me get this out of the way first.

I hate clothes shopping.  I always have.

When I was a kid, I hated it because we didn't have much money and I would be teased because my clothes came from Bargain Harold's or BiWay or Kmart.  And usually I had no say in what I wore.  My parents had ideas about what I should wear and that was what I wore until I had money to spend on my own choices.

I got my first retail job when I was 15 years old (turning 16 that year) and it was at Kmart, in the footwear department.  With every paycheque, I would go to Reitman's and buy myself an article of clothing or even a whole outfit.

Back in the late 80s I had this cream coloured outfit with gold coloured buttons that I just LOVED.  I thought I was so sophisticated when I wore it.  But even then, I had a hell of a time shopping.

My shoulders have always been narrow (so the shoulder-pad craze actually worked for me- LOL!), once I had a chest, it was always OUT THERE and I've always had quite the shelf, so to speak, when it came to my behind.

I've always had issues getting things to get over my butt and then gaping at the waist.  and, despite the sage advice of Stacy & Clinton from TLC's "What Not To Wear" - I've never been to a tailor.

But since the only shopping I truly enjoy involves books or DVDs (or buying things for people other than myself) shopping for bras is one of the things I hate the most.

#1 - I don't want to spend more than $30 on a bra if I can help it.
#2 - I currently wear a 40DD (though if I was professionally measured - I'm not sure what size I would actually be).
#3 - I always worry that I am going to rip something when I try things on.

Anyway, I went to Walmart and they didn't have ANY sports bras in DD.  And, in fact, I only found ONE sports bra that was a 40 band size (and it's one of those uniboob ones that don't really have "cups."

I had a salesperson assisting me and I decided to see if I could possibly squeeze into a D.

Cue to me in a change room looking COMPLETELY ridiculous.

I did end up buying 2 of the band-sized bras (one a 40 and one a 38 that fit) and I've read that when you are larger, it's beneficial to wear 2 at the same time for more support.

I think I need at least 5 because even with 2 on, the amount of bounce and movement is nuts.  It makes me think of that scene in "The Long Kiss Goodnight" where the jogger goes by.

(I found it on youtube. Go to 5:39 and it's just a couple of seconds).

Anyway - I find it bizarre that it's so challenging to find sports bras and workout clothes in general when I am a larger size - after all, what are we supposed to be wearing when we work out to lose the weight?
