I did 32 mins on the elliptical this morning and then later this evening I did another 30 to try and balance out the "cheat" eating I did at supper while celebrating my friend's birthday.
But it was more of a feeling of guilt and shame that got me on there. It wasn't a sense of empowerment and hope like I had the other day (which i don't even think I wrote about).
So - thoughts?
Why analyze your motivation? The main this is that you did it. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Teena. And you did better than I. Today was horrible nutrition-wise. But it doesn't matter what you do once in a while, it's what you do most of the time.
ReplyDeleteDo you use weights at all? Remember, it's not all about cardio. You have to make sure you retain and even build, your muscle tone. Muscle is metabolically active (more muscle, more calorie burning, even at rest) whereas fat just sits there taking up space.
Losing "weight" is not the main goal ... losing fat is. If you get a chance, check out www.bodyforlife.com. It's an awesome site.

I just bought ankle/wrist weights (2.5 lbs each) and last night I did 17 mins with them on my ankles and then the last 13 mins with them on my wrists.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if motivation source really makes a difference with weight loss. I think it might make a difference in maintenance though.. I could be wrong, but I lose weight usually with negative motivation, but have a hard time keeping it off that way.
