Watching an ep of x-weighted

*edited to add* it was a season 2 ep I was watching featuring Nicole in 2007.

http://xweighted.ca/episodes/season-two/last-chance-dance-nicole <-- episode info
http://xweighted.ca/participants/season-two/nicole <-- 2009 update

OK so at the start, Nicole on the show is 5 ft 6' tall.

Her measurements are:
Chest - 42"
Waist - 40"
Hips - 45 1/2"
and she weighs 178 lbs.

Now, I am 5 ft 5 and 1/2" tall

My measurements are:
Chest - 44 and 1/2"

Waist - 41 and 1/2"

Hips - 51 and 1/2"

and the day I had Hubs do my measurements I was 222.0 lbs.

So my chest is 2 and 1/2 inches larger than her start.
My waist is 1 and 1/2 inches larger than her start.
My hips are 6 inches larger than her start.

That's 10 inches.

Yet I'm 44 lbs heavier than her.  And since she was dressed and wearing jeans let's say her clothes were 3 lbs.

So that still is at least 41 lbs more than her with a 10 inch difference in measurements and me being half an inch shorter.

What's up with that???

  2. I have not a clue about who you are talking about. The only thing I know for me is, I can't compare myself to anyone else. I weigh 222 pounds right now. When I tell people that they say, "No way, you're lying". And I'm saying in my head, "Who would lie about something like that?" Anyway, my point is, when I ask people how much they think I weigh they say at least 50 pounds less than I actually weigh. So a lot has to do with the fitness of the person ~ how toned they are etc. I know I look a lot better now at 222 because of all of the exercise I've put in, then when I weighed this number the first time. I remember feeling and looking very blubbery (is that a word) if not, it so fits how I looked and felt!!Today I feel fit and strong and I still have a ton of weight to lose!!!

Just keep your eyes on your journey. Work hard everyday to reach your goals. Love yourself along the way and just make this happen. You can do it!!!

    Keep focused!!

  3. Maybe you're just more toned than she is. Those things bug me too.

  7. I guess maybe you guys just carry your weight differently?

  8. Likely the difference is muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Cheers, Rick

  9. Don't worry about other people's results... the only thing that is important is your own progress!

(My colleague, who lost an awesome amount of weight last year, never looked as "fat" as I do, mostly because I have that not-so-cute belly pouch whereas with her everything was spread over her complete frame... I had to get over the thought of comparing us, I am only battling my own demons and fat tissue... and while she is slim these days, her demons have stayed, it seems...)
