shaved off a couple of more minutes on the track tonight

So yes, even though I am dealing with icky female stuff (owwie owwie OW!) I still worked out today using the wii Sports active 2.0 AND went to walk the track with the girls.

Of course, it was icy outside tonight and I managed to slip and fall on the steps outside the rec center on my way in.

Now this is hugely embarrassing - especially with my anxiety disorder.  I picked myself up as quickly as I could, gave a lil "I'm OK" wave and rushed inside.

A woman inside was all, "Oh my goodness, are you alright?" And I said, "Fine."

Then I bounded up the stairs to the track as quickly as possible so I could take a peek at my knee in private.

No blood - just bruised.

1G1D1Y said that it really looked more like I suddenly bent down to tie my shoelace - so I guess I didn't really embarrass myself but I kept freaking out about it.

We did a bit of jogging this time.  Just in small spurts.

However, I had to hold my pants up with one hand and put my other arm under my boobs (though I was wearing a sports bra) to keep them from going all over the place.

It was so ridiculous that it was hilarious and I was partially wishing I'd had my camera so I could have videoed even 30 seconds of that for you all to get a big kick out of!

See I can laugh at myself when I want to or when I am OK with other people doing it.  It's just when it's out of my control that I freak out a little.

Anyway, 51 minutes tonight to get our 5 k done.

If I hadn't fallen, and been tired and had to hold up my pants - I might have been even faster.

  1. I am so inspired by reading about you and H doing your nightly walks, i think i will record how long i walk tonight with my dog. I wonder how long it would take me to do a 5k?

  3. That is excellent time. Go girl. Got a word of advice, put on two sports bras. The girls are held much better. My best bud has to do that. Really she wears her regular bra, tight, and a sports bra and they don't bother her jogging anymore.
I too beat my 2 mile last night. I'm loving it.
Keep up the great work and sorry you fell down. Take some IBP this morning since I am sure you hurt a little bit. Take care and have a blessed day.

  4. Ahhhh, the old hand under the boobs while running thing....I have SOOO been there! Have you tried the Enell sports bra? I think that's the name of it. Pricey, but soooo worth it. I have size H's and this thing holds those suckers in place, even when I am running.

  5. Tonight... small pants, two sports bras.

I think we can run 1/4 of the track each go round until we can't any more. We can do it!

  6. The ability to laugh at yourself is one of the best traits a person can have. I say this from experience!

Way to go too on working so hard! Hoping the scale reflects that too!

  7. Yikes on the fall. Yep, I've done a few of those Funniest Home Video moves myself. Way to shave time off your walk. That is a major victory - NSV and Healthwise. Congrats.

  8. Oh, I know your pain!! I'm an absolute klutz, but I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me anymore. Glad you weren't injured though- my ankle is so weak from all the times I've hurt it LOL!

On the boos front.. I'm with ya there too! I have to double up on sports bras and it STILL hurts to run! And heaven forbid Jillian demand jumping jacks on my dvds! I wonder if that ever goes away!
